WHO Quality Technical Expert Network
The WHO Quality Technical Expert Network was established in 2016 as a Taskforce to maintain and deepen technical collaboration across WHO on quality health services.

It facilitates collaboration and coordination of activities across WHO relating to the quality of health service delivery in the context of UHC by providing a structured, systematic platform for knowledge sharing.

Key activities

The Quality Technical Expert Network supports cross-cutting work on quality health services across WHO. The Technical Expert Network is working on a number of cross-cutting activities to drive country impact for quality health services, through various technical working groups.

  • Quality health services: a planning guide - This planning guide focuses on actions required at the national, district and facility levels to enhance quality of health services, providing guidance on the key activities that need to be implemented at each of these three levels for sustainable improvement.
  • Quality Toolkit - The Quality Toolkit is an organized set of practical tools and resources to support improvement in the quality of health services and is a companion to the Quality health services: a planning guide.
  • Global report on WASH in health care facilities - The report provides an update on country progress in implementing key elements of the World Health Assembly (WHA) 2019 resolution on water, sanitation and hygiene in health care facilities, including tracking commitments, progress and investments. The report summarizes challenges and successes across a number of countries and provides four recommendations for future action to meet global targets.
