Disease surveillance

Disease surveillance

Emerging and re-emerging epidemic diseases pose an ongoing threat to global health security.

WHO's Health Emergencies Programme monitors a number of high-threat diseases on an ongoing basis. In doing so, we aim to help identify outbreaks before they become epidemics and guide public health decision-making. The results of this surveillance are shared here on a regular basis.
