Primary health care
The Special Programme on PHC assists countries in building PHC-based health systems that remain people-centred, resilient, and sustainable, integrating the work that is being done on PHC across the organization.

Building a fairer, healthier world where everyone can get the health care they need when they need it, without falling into financial hardship relies on greater investments in primary health care.

WHO is working with its Member States to orient their health systems towards people-centred primary health care. This approach brings together all sectors of society under a common vision of accelerating the delivery of universal health coverage.
