Ebola Virus Disease in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (Kivu and Ituri) IHR Emergency Committee
The IHR Emergency Committee on Ebola Virus Disease in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (Kivu and Ituri) met on eight occasions from May 2019 to July 2020. Following its fourth meeting on 17 July 2019, the WHO Director-General, accepted the Committee’s assessment and declared the event a Public Health Emergency of International Concern. He also issued the advice of the Committee as IHR Temporary Recommendation. The Director-General terminated the PHEIC on 26 June 2020 following the Committee’s assessment and issued its updated advice as IHR Temporary Recommendations.
