World Immunization Week, celebrated in the last week of April, aims to highlight the collective action needed to protect people from vaccine-preventable diseases.

This year, WHO is launching a year-long ‘Big Catch Up’ to close gaps in immunization brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, helping people of all ages live happier, healthier lives.

It is a call to all countries and immunization partners to intensify efforts to reach every child who has missed out on vaccines during the pandemic, to restore essential immunization coverage to at least 2019 levels, and to strengthen primary health care to deliver immunization to all communities.

Let’s together build back better and follow the vision of WHO South-East Asia: Sustain – accelerate – innovate!
